Meet Our Wonderful Staff

Dr. Heilmeier and Babbie are extremely proud of their caring and professional staff. Dr. Heilmeier and his staff have over 45 years' combined veterinary experience specializing in medicine, surgery, dentistry, senior & pediatric wellness programs, laser therapy, and digital radiography. They also offer luxury canine and feline boarding at Heilmeier's Bed & Biscuit.

Dr. John Heilmeier was born and raised in Alabama's charming Baldwin County. He graduated from Foley High School, and received his degree from Auburn University's School of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. He has been a veterinarian and practiced in South Baldwin County for 30 years and in 1997, opened Animal Medical Center. He and his wife Babbie, who is the Business Manager, renovated a home into a veterinary practice that would give a warm, loving feeling and show how much they love all animals. They are proud canine parents to Pixie, Lily and Hannah. They also have an adorable cat named Ernie.

Dr. Kasey Singley was also born and raised in Baldwin County. Dr. Singley always knew she wanted to become a veterinarian, and at the age of 15, began working for Dr. Heilmeier. After graduating from Foley High School in 1997, she then pursued her career at Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation in 2006, she was the recipient of the Gentle Doctor Award. She and her husband have a son and daughter. They also enjoy their Bulldog mix, Gertie, and a Brussels mix, Mabel.

Anna Martin is one of our hospital supervisors. She began working for Animal Medical Center in 2005. Anna enjoys talking to clients and helping to educate them in the care of their pets. Anna and her husband have 2 boys and a Yorkie, Tanner.

Lori Lindsey is one of our veterinary assistants and one of our hospital supervisors. She began working for Animal Medical Center in 2006. Lori loves all animals, but has a great compassion for cats. She and her husband have 4 boys, 1 dog and 4 cats.

Kirsten Broussard is one of our veterinary assistants. Kirsten has worked at Animal Medical Center since 2002 and has a great love for her job. She and her husband have 2 sons, 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Brenda Watson is our kennel supervisor. She began working in the veterinary field at the age of 18 and started at Animal Medical Center in 2002. She and her daughter share a household of pets.

Brittany Abadilla is one of our veterinary assistants. Brittany has been working in the veterinary field for a few years and joined Animal Medical Center in March 2012. Brittany enjoys working with people every day and seeing the care they have for their pets. She is the proud mom of 2 boys, 1 daughter, a Great Dane mix, Mia, and a cat, Bree.

Tara Dorman is one of our veterinary assistants. Tara joined our practice in the summer of 2011. She has enjoyed learning all areas of the practice, but assisting the Doctors, caring of the pets and helping to educate clients is what she enjoys best. Tara and her spouse have a daughter and a bulldog mix, Dixie.

Pam Patterson is one of our part-time kennel assistants. Pam says her love for animals makes it a joy to work each day. Pam and her husband are the proud parents of a son and daughter and grandchild. They keep busy with several horses as well as their 2 dogs.

Josephine (Josie) Templeman is one of our receptionists. Josie has been in the veterinary field for 10 years and joined the Animal Medical Center family the summer of 2014. She feels blessed to have her love animals become her career. Josie & her husband have 4 furry kids - dog (Indie) and 3 cats (Lenny, Beanz & 2 Sox).

Kaite Jackson is one of our animal caregivers. Katie began working at AMC as a weekend helper and we quickly made her a full time employee. Katie has a love for all animals, but she has a passion for cats. She and her husband have a son and 2 cats. She works all around the clinic wherever she is needed. She is also our tour guide and one of our photographers.

Savannah started working for us while she was still in high school at McGill Toolen Catholic School. She now attends Faulkner State Community College. Her plans include going to college at South Alabama and acquire her nursing degree. She loves working and playing with all of the fur babies that come to stay at Heilmeier's Bed and Biscuit! She has a little yorkie named Rucker.

Phillip started working for us while he was in high school in Gulf Shores. He now attends Faulkner State and plans to be the next Veterinarian to come out of our office. He loves his job and helps to keep everyone at the clinic laughing at all times.

Karley joined AMC as an intern while attending Faulkner State in the Veterinary Technician Program. She graduated the program in May of
2015 and we immediately hired her as our newest Veterinary Technician. She has 3 dogs a dachshund named Rebel and 2 lab mixed pooches named Daisy and Rosie.

Brooke is one of our newest kennel assistants. She grew up on a farm with lots of animals and has worked for other veterinary practices before moving to Baldwin County. Working with animals is her passion. She and her husband have a son and 2 precious chihuahuas.

Jenna is our newest Receptionist. She graduated from Foley High School and attended Faulkner State receiving an associates in business management. Her love of animals began with barrel racing at a very young age and still enjoys it now.
